Meet Janell Foust

… florist, herbalist, owner and founder of Lavender & Roses Herbary and Florals, established in 1999.

For the past 29 years, I have lived and raised three children on a beautiful sixty acre farm along the southern Ohio, Indiana border, among a bounty of native medicinal herbs. I have been blessed with four grandchildren who are now walking the land and learning the herbal way.

In 1975 I co-founded Rose City Nursery, a landscape, garden center, and greenhouse business in Richmond, Indiana. I have studied floral design from Indianapolis School of Design and Phil Roloda School of Floral Design, Anaheim, California.

After many years of floral design, I saw the amazing healing power of plants and flowers and their impact on the people who received them. Then the winds changed – literally the plants spoke in a different way and my green pilgrimage transformed. Beginning in 1998, I have studied herbal arts and sciences from a variety of Master Herbalists including Rosemary Gladstar and Soloman Wickey, an Amish herbalist. I have now developed my own line of natural skin care products, herbal teas, and aromatherapy bath and body products.
